White male former airline pilot and flight instructor here. DEI should not factor into any decision in high risk industries like aviation. If you can’t fly a plane you’re unsafe and shouldn’t work in the industry. It doesn’t matter what your skin color or gender is. I’ve also worked with FAA in DC. They hire minorities, and veterans who were janitors in jobs that they aren’t qualified for. It’s hard for a white civilian males to get a job in the government. Viewing this as anything other than a form of racism is delusional at best. And what is the point or expected benefit of such policies?

it sounds bad, but if you look at the statistics and facts, since DEI was pushed all over, we have had increased train wrecks, Plane Crashes, Sub Crushes, even Wars. The guy chanting “when I say Gay you say Gay” does he offer anything else to society other than who he likes sexually? Same goes for anyone who uses their race, sexuality or mental cognitive ability… what ELSE do they offer? Usually not much else.
well with Boeing the problem is partially DEI /affirmative action, but it goes deeper.
Boeing use to build the safest place in the world. they were the toyota of plane manufacturing.
This happened because boeing had a on going training process. you hired in at the bottom and your boss / lead tuaght you about the business while his boss taught him more about the business while his boss taught him more about the business while his boss taught him more about the business while his boss taught him more about the business and eventually people rolled off the end in retirement.
with this process Boeing could get 6 of 10 people together and they woudl pretty much know everything about the airplane. problems were solved quickly and with a lot of agreement.
when McDonald Douglas bought Boeing the new management changed the emphasis from quality to cost savings. they started giving huge bonuses to executive for cost savings. at the same time they started really pushing affirmative action.
The massive outsourcing started: big chunks of work were outsourced to china, Ireland, Russia, India, mexico, France, etc. the result was before long Boeing people did not know about those parts of the airplane. further when a change was made at one outsourced company the impact to other parts of the airplane woudl not be found until the failure happened.
as we moved through the 1990 – 2020 the knowledge base got thinner and thinner. here we are today with Boeing assembling airplane with a vision that they are Lego kits to be snapped together.
It seems like everything has gone to hell since old poopypants stole the election.
Since it is a Liberal/Democrat policy, what do you expect? Everything they touch turns to crap!!! And than they lie about it!!
