Californians have themselves to blame. They elected and reelected the greasy, well-oiled scumbag that they call a governor. Then they tried to recall him, but the recall failed. The question is, why did they reelect him? Well, for the same reason the idiot NY State voters reelected cuckoo Kathy Hochul.
EVERY RESERVOIR was full… Mind you – given our rains and snow melt the last couple years, ALL our reservoirs could have been filled – Hell, even the Salton Sea gained water volume and LA was in danger of being flooded by the LA River – yes, the LA River, where they have drag races in the concrete conduit which is the LA River usually. But of the 3 main reservoirs/water cachements meant to service the municipal water supplies, one was almost completely empty, another was reportedly less than half full, and the third was not full to capacity. And when Trump called Newsom out on his refusal to divert some of those flood waters, Newsom refused, because of “environmental concerns” – namely the Delta Smelt he claims never to have heard of. Guy’s a liar. Period.
OKAY – MORE LIES!! The public is being told that this was a wildfire season of Biblical proportions – “100 mph winds” (alternately “gusts up to 100 mph”), “sustained winds over 70 mph”, worst Santa Ana winds ever… BS! Hey, I’ve lived in and visited LA since 1951. There was NOTHING unusual here. High winds? While the politicians were claiming hurricane force winds, the actual wind speed was… 25 mph. When they were claiming 100 mph gusts… the actual number was “gusts up to 40 mph (occ. 70 mph)”. Sustained winds? What about 1957 when the winds lasted 14 days straight, vs. the 1 to 3 days this time? Ultra-high winds? Oh, heck no – 90 mph gusts are almost the norm. 70 mph gusts are normal. Incredibly high winds? How did this compare to 2011 when winds gusted as much as 170+ mph? This was a pretty typical Santa Ana season, milder than many if not most. The difference was political incompetence. It ain’t “global warming”, it’s “political stupidity” and incompetence and corruption and everything else is gaslighting.
