Sorry to say and read many comments that are so dehumanizing. We are easy to judge others and yet cannot judge our own behaviors. YESTERDAY, after a funeral service, I consulted the priest and asked if it is right to include with our prayers whom we choose to pray for during a family prayer. HE reminded me that there is a separation between the state and the church, hence when they pray during the mass, they only mention government leaders to lead for the sake of the people, no mention what religion, religious leaders each congregation has or any specific name of a leader. IF ONE WISHES, to pray for whom we wish to pray, pray silently for whom you desire to pray for not to impose on others who join with you during the prayer. Today’s homily emphasized about humility and forgiveness. We are so adamant in forgiving others and no humility to admit that we are all sinners in different degrees. It is sad that we love listening to some leaders who shouts that military men are losers and suckers- those who protect us from our country’s enemies, that immigrants are vermin and stain the American blood, call judges deranged who give verdicts on wrong doings and praise the Russian dictator as a good man. How can we agree with those demeaning remarks of people who claim to be a leader of a great nation and yet using street language that is not appropriate of a leader of nations, who aggravates people to ruin the capitol and make innocent people believe that an election was rigged and up to this day, there are millions of people who still believe that the election was stolen. Sad to see that over a thousand people are in prison who activated others to lead a riot as one says instead of calling it as an insurrection. We lost our sanity and are demonized by others who are consumed with greed and power to govern in spite of the inappropriate language and let alone demonstrate behaviors that are like savages who storm our capitol. I have seen the effects of riots in Newark, New Jersey in the sixties and never anticipated that a huge riot will be directed to the capitol which stands for the democracy of the American nation. The language of hatred has gotten worst dehumanizing immigrants and immigrants that has helped build America to a better nation, labeled people who protect out country as losers and suckers and McCAIN was never a hero because he was gunned down by the enemy. An ex-president who wanted to have an injured soldier in a wheelchair be removed from the audience when he was delivering a speech. Have we done an introspection on where our sanity has gone? I do not wish to use a language of the unschooled however, may I ask ourselves if our sanity, our behavior AND JUDGMENT has gone done with the dogs, or I may SAY DOGS MAY BE MORE polite at this day and age as manifested by unforgiving, demeaning and foul language by some of our recognized leaders.May the HOLY SPIRIT HELP US to be more forgiving and practice humility with our dealings with other humans to become more humane.
