As a lifelong resident of El Paso, may I say that it’s an honor to have Mr Homan, military troops, and the Border Patrol in our city. It’s a shame that the previous “administration” did not see fit to secure our southern border, but increasing their party rolls with potential voters must have been more important that the welfare of our citizens.
Back in the 1910s, Americans had Pancho Villa to deal with, and as for El Paso, its then Mayor, Tom Lea, father of the artist Tom Lea, had a large reward on his head thanks to Pancho Villa. In 1971, the founders of Kaiser Permanent went to the Mexican gangs of Los Angeles, and got a half dozen of their number to work on a health project for farm workers and cannery workers in northern California. California’s Affirmative Action programs paid for hundreds of Hispanics to attend colleges, dental schools, medical schools, law schools, all in an attempt to give Mexicans and Central Americans every possible opportunity to join the educated and middle class. Does America owe every Hispanic the same benefits? Shouldn’t the Roman Catholic Church be liable for all these costs. After all they insisted on no public education in Mexico, etc. and no birth control, etc. responsible for the excessive numbers of Mexicans and Central Americans and South Americans? The Cartels and their Chinese gang partners own the drug addicts and the politicians profiting from trafficking. There is only one way to eliminate the criminal cartels, and it will take Tom Homan and the military to do it.
